Main objectives
Evaluation of the long-distance wind dispersion of infected Culicoides midges as plausible source of BTV introduction northward into European countries (Italy and France) from Northern Africa using Atmospheric Dispersion Models (ADM) linked to numerical weather prediction (NWP), and where available, using genomic similarity among strains
Evaluation of the similarity of climatic and environmental characteristics in space and time across northern Africa areas and European countries.
